Research conducted for aerospace applications and for the military is increasingly being applied to the transportation field. The entertainment hardware and network linking the car to the world around are already very visible for the customer. Equally intriguing is the potential of electronics for enhanced safety and comfort. Here at the University of Alabama, plans are underway to apply existing facility, know-how and expected growth to:
